REALTOR^® is a federally registered collective membership mark which identifies a real estate professional who is a Member of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS^® and subscribes to its strict Code of Ethics.

Founded in 1908, the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®, The Voice for Real Estate®, is the world's largest professional association.

In addition to the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®, members belong to one or more local associations as well as their state association of REALTORS®.

Not all licensed real estate agents are REALTORS®. What's the difference? Among other things, membership requires application, payment of dues, and additional course work including mandatory ethics training and a commitment to abide by the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® Code of Ethics. The Code of Ethics establishes obligations and standards of practice that may be higher than those mandated by law.
