Orlando Visitation Tops 55 Million

Visit Orlando announced today that Orlando visitation reached 55.1 million in 2011 becoming the first destination in the U.S. to welcome more than 55 million visitors.  The total surpassed forecast by 1.5% and was a 7.2% gain on 2010's record setting result of 51.4 million.

  • Domestic visitation 51.3 million (+7.5%)
  • International visitation 3.8 million (+3.5%)
  • Canada was the number one international market with 1,015,000 visitors (+5.7%)
  • Travel from the United Kingdom was 767,000
  • Domestic leisure visitation rose 8.3%
  • Hotel room occupancy rose 5.8% to 67.6%
