Universal Orlando Resort yesterday revealed the first details of what they are calling a water theme park, Volcano Bay, currently under construction and set to open in 2017.

Check out the Resort’s FIRST LOOK video.

Volcano Bay will span 28 acres and be made up of four themed areas: the heart of the park, Krakatau, which is also the name of the 200 ft. tall volcano; Wave Village, including a multi-directional wave pool; River Village, with a winding river, toddler play area, three-story water playground, and family-friendly raft rides; and, Rainforest Village, featuring an assortment of thrilling attractions including North America’s first “saucer ride.”

To enhance the guest experience, Universal indicates special line management and systems so you don’t have to carry rafts or tubes. You can read the breaking news on the official Universal Orlando Resort blog with more information also on the Resort’s website including attraction names and descriptions.
