Atlantic Hurricane Season Over

December 1st, 2014 8:42 PM by Brent Ferry

The Atlantic hurricane season ended yesterday. The season runs from June 1st through November 30th. This year saw 8 named storms 6 of which became hurricanes with 2 of those major hurricanes. None made landfall in Florida.

The North Pacific season was the busiest since 1992 with 20 named storms. Of those, 14 became hurricanes and 8 were major hurricanes.

Those visiting Orlando soon should check in with local new stations for the most recent weather reports. Winter weather can be quite variable in Central Florida and is dependent on frontal systems from the north. A range of temperatures including overnight lows into the 30s and daytime highs into the 80s are all possible in Orlando. The average highs for the beginning of December are in the low 70s. High temperatures near 80 are expected through the coming week.
